Everybody, Somebody, Anybody and Nobody

This is a little story about four people named Everybody, Somebody, Anybody and Nobody.

There was an important job to be done and Everbody was asked to do it.

But Everybody was sure that Somebody would do it.

Anybody could have done it, but Nobody did.

Somebody got angry about that, because it was Everybody's job.

Everybody thought Anybody could do it, but Nobody realized that Everybody wouldn't do it.

It ended up that Everybody blamed Somebody when Nobody did what Anybody could have done.

I heard that story in an ethics class in college. Thank you for reminding us of this important lesson.

what a nice website. I am reading from Texas, and coincidently, lived in Portland for 20 years. Love it! Sometimes "help" really isn't much. Just a listening ear. I am so DOWN tonight. An orthopedic injury has left me in serious pain, but I have no one to turn to: my husband is out of the country and I cannot see my way clear to call and cry on his shoulde - it would only make him worry and feel as helpless as I do right now. I am virtually alone in a city of 9 million people! So I asked "if anyone is there" and got your site. Just writing this has helped. I see others need help in may ways. IF I can help, jus by listening to some one else, then it would help me, too! Thanks for reminding me I am not really alone.
